Job Summary:
The primary objective of the Research Manager is to lead Avison Young’s research

initiatives in the local metropolitan area by providing leadership and support to the local Managing

Director, brokerage efforts and to the Director of U.S. Research. Responsible for daily data management, market research, analysis and trends reporting for the local market as well as for national/international reporting such as newsletters, annual forecast, and investor requests.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and lead research projects on local market trends and statistics.
  • Responsible for the analysis, interpretation and reporting of market research data through internal and vendor provided sources.
  • Works closely with brokers to address their research needs and to prepare proposals and strategies for presentations.
  • Prepares project specific reports and market analysis and client presentations.
  • Assist and lead with research white papers.
  • Understands all software programs and vendor provided data used for research; researches, evaluates and recommends new programs. Proficient at using Catalyst for client, building and tenant data.
  • Track research subscriptions for local market and develop annual budget requests.
  • Responsible for local training in research related software programs.
  • Comply with company standards and report appropriate market statistics to national and international directors.
  • Coordinate corporate and client requests and responses for the local office.
  • Familiarity with key industry groups and publications. Monitors the research capabilities of the local competitors.
  • Other duties as necessary

Education, Experience and Skills:

Bachelor’s degree. Real estate, finance, urban planning, or business degree preferred. Minimum of five years’ experience in related field.

Leadership experience and positive work attitude required.

Excellent communication skills and attention to detail are needed. Candidate must have the ability to work under pressure and on multiple projects with competing deadlines.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Graphic programs.
